What is Scaffold or Industrial Piercing?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Scaffold piercing, also known as industrial or construction piercing, is most common in the ear, although I\u2019m sure there will be people who have done this in other locations too!\u00a0 Generally this is a cartilage to cartilage piercing, joining two or more locations on the outside rim of the ear, although it can also be joined to the tragus.<\/p>\n

Industrial Scaffold Piercing Jewellery<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>The most popular ear piercing jewellery<\/a> for your scaffold piercing is the barbell<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s important to choose the correct length of barbell<\/a>, too short and it could damage your piercing and even your ear.\u00a0 Too long and it could get caught on your hair, clothing, or towel when you come out from the shower, you\u2019d be surprised how often this happens!\u00a0 Also common with nipple piercings<\/a> \u2013 ouch!<\/p>\n

All good piercers will mark your ear at both of the points for piercing and if you\u2019re happy with the positioning they will measure the distance to ensure they use the correct length of barbell for your particular piercing.\u00a0 One size does not fit all!\u00a0 Everyone has different sized ears and it is dependent on exactly where you choose to position your piercing.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>PTFE<\/a> is an excellent material to use in your newly pierced scaffold piercing as it\u2019s completely bio-compatible and flexible which helps to reduce any tension between the two piercings during healing.<\/p>\n

Alternatively it\u2019s common to initially wear BCRs (rings)<\/a> in each of your industrial piercings then change to a barbell when the piercings have fully healed.<\/p>\n

Industrial barbells come in many designs and lengths up to approximately 46mm.\u00a0 Who says a barbell has to be straight?\u00a0 You could try one with swirls, curls or spirals<\/a>.\u00a0 Or even stars, skull or dice<\/a>? That\u2019s just the surgical steel<\/a> barbells!<\/p>\n

If you don\u2019t fancy steel, try titanium<\/a> barbells which come in lengths up to 46mm and in a myriad of colours including blues, purple, rainbow and striped!\u00a0 If you\u2019re looking for a black industrial barbell go for a black steel or black titanium<\/a> one.<\/p>\n

Industrial Scaffold Piercing Aftercare<\/strong><\/p>\n
