The practice of ear piercing has been around forever, well almost!\u00a0 The oldest example, to date, was found in the mummified remains of Otzi the Iceman who is believed to be 5300 years old.\u00a0 He had an ear piercing of 7-11mm, possibly the first stretched ear piercing too!<\/p>\n

Through the ages ear piercings have continued to be popular.\u00a0 Sailors pierced their ears with gold rings<\/a> in the hope that their earrings<\/a> would pay for a Christian burial should their bodies be washed ashore.\u00a0 Even William Shakespeare had an ear piercing!<\/p>\n

Ear piercing<\/a> is still the most popular body piercing today with lobe piercing being the favourite.\u00a0\u00a0 Lobe stretching is going large gauge<\/a> with stretching jewellery<\/a> available up to 50mm. \u00a0If you don\u2019t fancy stretching your lobe piercing you can always fake it<\/a> with fake plugs and expanders<\/a> that look like an 8mm piercing!<\/p>\n

There are lots of different ways to pierce your ears including scaffold<\/a>, rim, diath, rook, tragus, anti-tragus, conch, snug and inner pinner for starters!<\/p>\n
